Shahid Kapoor took six months just to confirm a friend request on Facebook. But that's normal considering that Shahid was known for his aversion
towards social networking sites. But it seems that now the tide has turned because Shahid is always connected to his Facebook and Twitter accounts
and is constantly upgrading his "status". Shahid made his formal debut on Twitter last Friday.
"I got addicted to it in less than 24 hours!
I was never into this at all. In fact, I never bothered about Facebook and Twitter. But now I am tweeting many times during the day," says Shahid.
Shahid is right -- the actor took six months just to confirm one friend request on Facebook!
"I'd added Shahid to my Facebook friends list
six months back and completely forgotten about it. Last week he confirmed me as a friend. Usually I would suspect anyone who was claiming to be
Shahid and active online, but when my confirmation came after six whole months I knew it was the genuine Shahid," says a friend, explaining how
inactive Shahid has been, on the internet networking sites.
The inactivity of Shahid also stemmed from the fact that an impersonator had been
interacting with his colleagues and even started making news. A formal complaint was lodged by his publicist Rajnigandha Sekhawat on behalf of Shahid
and the account was removed.
A quick visit to Shahid's Twitter account reveals that he had received three videos made especially for him by
his fans, some 10 pictures and illustrations with poetry written for him and he had to fielded at least a 1,000 questions -- within 24 hours of his
debut on twitter.
And here's another interesting revelation. Says Shahid, "There is also this girl who stole my life-size standee (a
promotional cardboard poster) from a movie hall. She uploaded the video of how she stole it from a movie hall. I tweeted back to her saying that I
had watched the video and I am amazed," he ends.
