Cinegoers actually identified with the love story and the result is an all time blockbuster which is till running in its 740th week at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir.

Akshay Kuamr's CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA too was said to be his story, but even though the film did not do well, it opened to a good response as it was promoted as Akki's autobiography. The film still has its fans who loved the unique concept of authentic kungfu, a first in Hindi cinema.

The question that arises is- Will CHANCE PE DANCE, rumored to be based on Shahid's life, prove to be a DDLJ for Shahid? History says yes, so we will keep our fingers crossed for Shahid who is often said to bear a strong resemblance to the young SRK.
