Everyone knows that Shahid Kapoor is a big star today and charges several crore for a film or endorsement. However, few people are aware of his extra humble beginnings - he once stayed in a tenement in Andheri’s MHADA colony. Last week Shahid visited a small studio in the same locality and it was quite literally a walk down memory lane for him.

Shahid’s close companion Mamu, who has known his family for decades, was accompanying him when Shahid reached the area. He informed all of the actor’s old friends who live nearby, and they gathered at the studio to meet Shahid. Needless to say, it was an emotional moment for Shahid as well as Mamu.

According to our confirmed sources, news is that Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma have now been chosen as the Brand Ambassadors of the skin care major Vaseline.

A pleasantly surprised SRK admitted that he has thought he was done with the film and he would not be in any awards show this year because he had no noteworthy films in 2009. “I thought I was over and done with Rab Ne as I didn’t know that the yearly circle for Apsara Awards was November to November.

Finally, here is a Hollywood film that is being accused of being a rip-off of a Bollywood flick. Directed by Anand Tucker, the film Leap Year is an out an out copy of Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met and stars Amy Adams, Matthew Goode and Adam Scott .

And this is no loose speculation as the 'Leap Year' synopsis on the Universal Film news homepage clearly states: 'The film is loosely based on Jab We Met, a 2007 Bollywood film.'

As per sources, Tucker had become an immediate fan of 'Jab We Met' and had decided to make a foreign copy of the film set in Ireland.

It's Priyanka vs Shahid again. Their fans are battling on Twitter over the NDTV's Twitter Indian of the Year 2009 Award.

When Shahid Kapoor booked the car he had been wanting to book all these years, he didn't realize that he was actually the first customer of the Range Rover in India. The realisation dawned upon him when he got a call from a senior official of Tata Motors that he is the first one of book it in India.

"He has been driving his Mercedes for too long now. He has always been telling that he wants to own a Jaguar but he didn't want to import the car because he didn't want to let anybody make an issue out of it," says a close friend of the star, indicating the earlier exposure of the Range Rover importing racket scandal that hit several Bollywood stars including Sushmita Sen. After Tata Motors declared that they are importing the car in India, sources say that they immediately received thousands application from all over the country. Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor was the first customer for the Tatas. "It was such an honour receiving the keys of my car from Ratan Tata. When I was booking the car, I was really not aware that that I am the first. He (Ratan Tata) also congratulated me for being his first customer. This car will always be special to me not only because I always wanted to own a Range Rover but because I was the first one in India to drive it home and it was Ratan Tata who gave the keys to me. I am so so proud," said Shahid, right after taking the car keys from Ratan Tata.

Shahid Kapoor, who is currently on a high post the success of Kaminey, has got himself a brand new Range Rover SUV. The actor received the keys of his new black SUV from none other than Mr. Ratan Tata (Chairman and MD of the Tata Group) yesterday evening at the Tata Motors showroom in Worli, Mumbai.

Now that he has acquired himself a new car, it remains to seen which of his leading ladies will first get a chance to go on a long drive with Shahid.
