Much has been written about Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut Mausam, starring his son Shahid Kapoor and actor Sonam Kapoor, but the story of the film is still strictly under wraps. Though it was reported that in the movie, Shahid and Sonam play characters who age from 20 years to 40 years,Sonam rubbishes the story.

“That’s half-baked news,” says Sonam. “My character in the movie is not that of a ‘mature woman’, as reported. I very much play a girl of my age, though her character’s unlike anything I have played earlier. My look is certainly different in the film but it’s not at all ‘old’.”

Shahid Kapur has got a new look. Or rather, he has gone back to his old look. Shahid had been sporting a moustache for some time now.

The character he is playing in his father Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut Mausam, required him to look mature. But now that his scenes in the film have been shot, he has gone back to his clean-shaven look. But interestingly, Shahid seems to miss his moustache.

Pilots the combat aircraft while shooting on location in Edinburgh

On Tuesday, Shahid Kapoor flew a Tornado battle aircraft at the Royal Airforce airbase in Leuchars near Edinburgh while shooting for his father's Mausam. Shahid plays an airforce officer in the film. Director Pankaj Kapur felt that shooting on a restricted airbase area on a real plane would considerably enhance the authenticity of the aerial shots considering the hero is an air force officer.

Shahid Kapoor, who is shooting with his dad Pankaj Kapur for Mausam in Edinburgh, is mortified of his father.

It is said that before the unit left for UK, Shahid was already getting addicted to the songs of the film. The young actor apparently loved one of the songs so much that he kept blasting it in his home before he left for the outdoor schedule.

Several of his fans tweeted that he was copying Tom Cruise’s look from the 1990s film, Top Gun. Bring this up with the actor and he says, “We were shooting at a crowded place here. Everyone had mobile phones with cameras. I don’t know who leaked the photo because we didn’t want to reveal the look before time.”

Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor may have a world of expectation from them because of their famous parents but the two stars-in-making are not taking their responsibilities very lightly.

Shahid especially, has a lot to prove as he shoots for his father Pankaj Kapur’s directing debut Mausam. Seeing Shahid’s dedication, his co-star Sonam is also doing all she can to prep herself for the role. A source tells us that Shahid was put through a series of workshops before work on the film began

Shahid who maintains a reverent restrain in front of his father, has lost all his inhibitions in Edinburgh. Because that's what his father Pankaj Kapur expects from Shahid in Mausam.

The crew is surprised delighted and confused by Shahid's constant antics, playful and most uncharacteristic of the actor who likes to stay aloof on location unless with close friends. But on this one, Pankaj forbade Shahid from maintaining a distance. Mingle mix and enjoy was the brief that Shahid took dead seriously.

When Sonam Kapoor joined Shahid Kapoor for the first reading of Pankaj Kapur’s Mausum, the actress blew her cheeks out and reportedly said, “You're working with your dad for the first time. Have ‘fun’.

I have just finished Aisha for my father (Anil Kapoor) and I know how tough it is to please him. Now you’re getting into Mausam with your dad, you see how hard this film is going to be for you.”

The lead actress Sonam Kapoor has also joined the crew recently. Shahid surely knows that the way to his father's heart is through his stomach. On his dad's birthday, Shahid managed to spring a culinary surprise for him.

If it's a Shahid Kapoor film, there must be some heavy duty dancing. Or so it seems, going by the way the music in his father's directorial debut Mausam has been moulded to accommodate Shahid's dancing shoes.

According to a source very close to the project, the film's aesthetically-inclined director Pankaj Kapoor had initially planned an exclusive heavily melody-based music score based only ragas.
