Mausam Music Review - Apun Ka Choice (3 stars)

When an actor like Pankaj Kapur dons a director’s cap, the outcome is Mausam. The yet-to-release romantic film has struck a chord with the audience, and that’s because of its fresh and wonderful songs.

The credit goes to the maverick music director Pritam, who shuns his Bollywood tinted expertise to come up with an out of the ordinary score. Lyricist Irshad Kamil also joins the composer for this musical album. The first offering is the lively number Rabba Mein To Marr Gaya Oye which continues to air on our TV sets.

Mausam Music Review - GlamSham (4 stars)

MAUSAM marks the debut of Pankaj Kapoor (one of the most awesome actors that Bollywood has seen in present times) as a director, and since the film stars his own son, teenage sensation and a star in his own right, Shahid Kapoor, we have high expectations from the music of the film.

Shahid himself has been associated with countless memorable and super hit compositions, and with melody king Pritam at the helm of affairs, along with his trusted aide, Irshad Kamil, who together spelled magic with JAB WE MET and delivered a couple of chartbusters in BADMAASH COMPANY, things only get more exciting. And now let's check out if Pritam & Co. can indeed repeat the magic of JAB WE MET once again!

Mausam Music Review - Planet Radio City (3.5 stars)

If you are looking for a premise, Mausam seems to be all over space and time. Judging from the trailer, it is a costume drama, a war film with all men in uniform, an exotic location romance and a salt-of-the-earth Indian love story. Sure, director Pankaj Kapoor obviously has his reasons to flit around with the look and feel of the film, and with that, one can expect the music styles to be spread generously too.

‘Rabba Main Toh Mar Gaya’ is the safest start the album can have. Music director Pritam begins this varied sonic journey with a lilting intro to what is yet another ‘Rabba’ song (is there just no end to all this ‘maula’ and ‘rabba’ abuse?) Shahid Mallya’s voice is decent because he has a nice husky undertone that sneaks in without losing the smoothness. Yes, it’s a ballad and if the lyrics click with you, then this song will work.

Music Review - Music director Pritam at creative best in `Mausam`

Mumbai: When a talented actor like Pankaj Kapoor turns director, expectations are bound to be high. So while the first look of Kapoor`s `Mausam` is already making waves, its music too has potential to strike a chord with the audience.

The album contains 13 tracks but the surprise element is the delightful compositions by composer Pritam, who has gone out of his comfort zone and churned an album that is rich in traditional sounds and mind-blowing vocals by some of the best singers in the industry. Meaningful lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil gel well with the mood of the album.

Mausam Music Review - Bolly Spice (4 stars)

Pankaj Kapur’s magnum opus love story Mausam, starring his son Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles looks to bring back star crossed lovers attracting and repelling, changing and growing as the seasons go along. From what we have seen Mausam has shaped up really well with the exciting and passionate promos.

Expectations are mammoth with this being Shahid’s only film of the year, and Sonam’s possible game changer role, fans cannot wait until the film hits theaters on September 16th. From the first two promos the music is also something fans have been eagerly awaiting to get their hands on. Will this be a return to top form for music director Pritam? Let’s see how his compostions turned out.

Mausam Music Review - Bollywood Hungama (4 stars)

EXPECTATIONS

There can't be anything less than a sure shot superhit soundtrack that one expects from Mausam. After all Pritam had created magic for Shahid's Jab We Met while songs from Kismat Konnection are still hot favourite at satellite channels.

Now when Mausam is a huge film for Shahid with his dad Pankaj Kapur directing it, there can't be any shortcomings whatsoever. With Irshad Kamil stepping in as a lyricist, one is more or less assured of a treat in the offering.

Chance Pe Dance music review

EXPECTATIONS

When the title of a film comprises of the word 'dance', it is bound to raise good expectations. More so when the actor starring in it is none other than Shahid Kapoor who is one of the best dancers that Bollywood has today. Add to that the fact that both Ishq Vishk and Fida, director Ken Ghosh's last two films, boasted of some fabulous tracks that are played till date, expectations only soar further. Coming in of a new composer-lyricist 'jodi' in the town - Adnan Sami and Irfan Siddiqui - makes one further look forward to what the duo has to offer.

Kaminey Music Review

Here is the review posted by blog writer 'Saurabh' on Passion for Cinema. I totally agree with each word, people read on....

Te Nan , the music is out and the first song is already a big hit . Expectations are on a high , regarding both , the film and the music . The Dhan Te Nan has left people asking for more and now we finally have the entire album . Vishal last worked on “U Me aur Hum” which was a long time back and music lovers like me would love to see more of him . He has always given an outstanding score for his own films and his jodi with Gulzaar works like something . After Omkara the expectations are really high from the duo for this one . Well this one is a completely different album and I also tried to give it an unbiased view keeping the past completely out of my perspective .

The soundtrack opens with a blockbuster track “Dhan Te Nan” by the super-hit machine Sukhwinder along with Vishal Dadlani . Do I even need to say anything about this track which is already a big hit . The music on this one is probably the best on the entire album and Vishal has done a fabulous job for this track . Sukhwinder sings in his impeccable style and Vishal backs him very well . Both of them together have sung it almost perfectly . The thing to notice is the lyrics that are there in this song . Its really amazing how Gulzaar Sir comes up with these wacky lyrics nicely blending english with hindi . He has written the songs in today’s language of India , the Hinglish . I mean take a look at this :

“Aaja ki One Way Hai
Yeh Zindagi ki Gali
Ek hi Chance hai

Aage Hava hi Hava hai
Agar saans hai to
yeh Romance hai”
