Shahid Kapoor signs Bejoy Nambiar's next

After the success of Shaitaan, director Bejoy Nambiar is in no mood to relax, it seems. While still working on his second directorial venture David, he has already roped in Shahid Kapoor for his next untitled project. "Yes, Shahid and I are working on something. We will start working on the film once I am done with David," Bejoy told IANS.

The director was reluctant to reveal the theme of his film and said: "I am nowhere close to the project right now. I am only focusing on 'David'. I can't reveal the genre of the film. Nothing has been decided yet."

Shahid Kapoor is surely the epitome of forgetfulness. Letting bygones be, he not only paired up with ex-flame Priyanka Chopra for Kunal Kohli's "Teri Meri Kahaani", but now is all set to work with PC's cousin, Parineeti, in Maneesh Sharma's next.

The "Band Baaja Baaraat" director has finalized Parineeti, who debuted with Ranveer Singh in "Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl", for his film.

Dharma Productions to co-produce Vettai remake?

Opportunity knocks at your door just once, they say. However, for Shahid Kapoor, a chance to work with Dharma Productions has presented itself not once but thrice.

The actor, who couldn't work in Karan Johar's Kaal in 2005 had to wait seven years to be offered another film from the production house. Sadly, due to date issues, the actor had to opt out of the Punit Malhotra directorial as well. Shahid had then said, “I hope it doesn't take us another seven years to work again.” And thankfully, his wish has just come true albeit with a little prodding by the actor himself.

Shahid confirms 'Vettai' remake

Now it can be told! Like some of his senior colleagues, Shahid Kapoor has consented to do a remake of a South Indian film. UTV's Tamil film VETTAI, starring Arya and R. Madhavan, will now be remade in Hindi, with Shahid essaying Arya's part in the remake. N. Linguswamy, the director of VETTAI, will direct the Hindi version as well.

Reportedly, a screening of the film was held for Shahid a few days ago and the actor agreed to be a part of the remake instantly. So much so that he has even allotted dates to the producers of the film [filming begins from mid-April onwards]. "In fact, Shahid has decided to push other assignments ahead to accommodate the remake," a trustworthy source informs me. Meanwhile, UTV is in the process of finalizing the second lead [R. Madhavan's part] of this remake.

"I have three films in the offing currently" : Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor appears pretty relaxed and cool at his home in Versova. His dog Kaizer keeps a close watch.
"You know what to expect from him if you ask me nasty questions," he grins. But he doesn't need the canine. He fields all queries with utmost comfort. Read on for excerpts...

How's 2012 looking for you? I've decided to do three films a year from here on, but where are the scripts? I reject most of the ones offered to me. There are three films in the offing currently. I am doing Maneesh Sharma's film for Yash Raj Films. There's also Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahani (working title).

Shahid Kapoor in Karan Johar's next film

Just as the actor lands his first KJo project with Punit Malhotra, his Mausam co-star officially walks out of it. Bad weather forecast? Shahid Kapoor's single status seems to be working in his favour, especially for his professional life.

The actor was slated to work on his first Dharma Production in 2005 in Karan Johar's Kaal. But due to the cold war between his then girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and KJo, Shahid reportedly opted out of the venture.

Siddharth Anand to come back in action with Shahid Kapoor starrer

It's funny and sad how one Friday can change relationships, clout and equations. There are flops and then there's Anjaana Anjaani. The thundering fiasco had a Tsunami-like effect on the talented Siddharth Anand's career. There was an immediate fall-out with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who had assigned the direction of the Chetan Bhagat novel '2 States' to Siddharth. The offer was quickly passed on to Vishal Bhardwaj.

Anjaana Anjaani's leading man Ranbir Kapoor who also happens to be Siddharth's childhood friend and therefore Siddharth had the singular privilege of directing Ranbir in two films, also opted out of future project with his bachpan ka saathi.
